Lusatian Mountains stretch in the area of north Bohemia between Šluknovský and Frýdlantský spurs. The highest peak is Luž (793 m above sea level). Lusatian Mountains are connected with German Žitavské Mountains in the north and in the west there are Czech Central Mountains, Labské sandstones and NP Bohemian Switzerland. The area of Lusatian Mountains is suitable for hiking which does not require good physical shape. The system of marked paths is well-developed so that it is possible to visit all interesting places of the picturesque mountain range. It offers enough attractive places to visit for example mountain tops with viewpoints, scientifically or historically interesting destinations. There is typical folk architecture – original timbered house so called Upper-Lusatian House with small segmented windows and with a gabled roof. Lusatian Mountains are very popular with tourists. Apartments, guest houses, hotels, cottages and camps offer accommodation of high quality. Other services in this region such as restaurants, sport centres, rentals are well prepared for the season. You can find here several small protected areas – Bílé kameny (white stones), Brazilka Jezevčí  vrch (Badger's top), Klíč (Key), Kytlice, Ledová jeskyně Naděje (Icy cave Hope), Líska, Louka u Brodských (Meadow at Brodský), Marschner's meadow, Noldenteich, Pustý zámek (desert castle), Rašeliniště (Moors) Mařeničky, Spravedlnost (Justice), Studený vrch (Cold top),V ápenka, Zlatý vrch (Golden top).

Educational paths – International educational path Lusatian and Žitavské mountains, educational path around Studenec, Mining educational path along river Milířka and educational path Renewal of wetlands in Brazilka.

Marked cycle paths in Lusatian Mountains are mainly roads. The cycle paths are partly secondary roads with weaker car traffic, only exceptionally the cycle paths are in frequented roads and partly on forest roads without any traffic.

Main ski resorts are Jedlová and Tolštejn with its centre in Jiřetín pod Jedlovou. In the mountain pass between Tolštejn and Jedlová, in the height of 650m above sea level, there is a beginning and finish for cross-country skiing routes. The longest round is 10 km long. There is a winter parking with the capacity of 100 parking slots. There are other ski resorts in Horní Podluží, Horní Světlá, Polevsko and Prácheň.

Mountaineering terrains on sandstone offer some parts of Lusatian Mountains, especially those with rocky towns or those with sandstone towers such as Horní Skály (Upper Rocks) at Horní Sedlo, Vraní rocks, Podkova (Horseshoe) in Krásný Důl under Vraní rocks and Popova rock.
